Ipsy Vs Birchbox October 2012

Hello My Beautiful Bombshells.  Thought I'd do a combo blog about both Ipsy and Birchbox October 2012.  Both were pretty decent this month.  One was better than the other by far!!  Here is my Vlog Review about it, and then I'll post some more pictures down below.  (Sorry, my vlog had to go on my regular channel since My Atomic account won't allow me to upload videos longer than 10 minutes as of yet)

All in all, Ipsy was AMAZING this month.  $10 for $70 worth of product plus a cute bag!  Birchbox was meh.  I ended up trying the Luna bar.  It was WAY to lemony for me, so my 2 year old is eating it right now, and my 6 year old is going to be given the lip balm because it's WAY too chocolatey for me.  But, it did FEEL great on my lips. :) The only item out of both I have yet to try is the skin oil.  But I'll give it a go tonight before bed.
Out of both, I think my favorite things are:
The Essie nail polish (From the BB), the Eyeliner (Ipsy), Lip Gloss (Ipsy) and the Mascara (Ipsy).
Ipsy Bag: Be A Bombshell Liner, Coastal Scents Quad Set 8, Couture Color Pequi Oil for Hair, The Balm Cosmetics "What's Your Type?" The body builder mascara, Mirenesse.com Lip Bomb Glossy Lacquer Stain

Coastal Scents Quad, Be a Bombshell Liner and The Balm What's Your Type Mascara

Mirenesse Lip Bomb Glossy Lacquer Stain in FULL FORCE

Lip Balm after blotting.

Birchbox: Luna Bar in LemonZest, Sprout Lip Balm Flights, Marie Veronique Organics Body Oil, Joanna Vargas Daily Serum and Essie Goop Pick in Size Matters.

Fortune Cookie Soaps: Fall 2012 Soap Box

OMG.  That is the only explanation about this box.  It's like fall in a small cardboard box!  I decided to do an unboxing video this time so you guys could see my initial reactions to it.  After the video, I'll review the products I've used, and give a break down on how much the box is actually worth so you can see how the price compares to the actual products. :)

(YES, This is also my channel, Atomicbombshell2005 account isn't verified for videos above 10 minutes)

Look at all the yumminess!!!!!  Anyway, let me explain how much everything costs for the full size, then broken down to see how much each "Sample" is worth.  I put sample in quotations, because their samples sizes are HUGE!!!

Facial Mask: Retails for $6.99/4 small baggies.  One Baggie is worth $1.75
Whipped Cream Lotion: Retails for $9.99/4 Samples.  One Sample is worth $2.50
Bath Milk: $12.99/12.5oz.  Assuming the sample is a 1oz Sample, it's worth $1.04
OCD Hand Sani: Full Sized product in box.  Worth $2.89
Lip Scrub:  This was not on the site, but I compared it to their lip balm.  $3.49
Eco Suds: $6.99/4oz Bag.  Does 10 Loads.  Assuming Sample is 1oz. worth $1.75
Bath Fizzy: Full Sized Product (Different prices)  $4.50 was comparable.
Fortune Cookie Soap: Full Size.  Average price is $3.00

Everything in my box smelled like heaven.  Before I took a bath last night with a half a bag of the Bath Milk and the fizzy, I applied the lip scrub, which made my lips extremely soft.  I also used the Pumpkin mask (Which yes, did smell like Pumpkin).  I also washed with the Marshmallow soap.  After getting out, I lathered the Whipped Cream in Snickerdoodle all over my body....and went to bed.  Even now, at Noon, I STILL smell like the lotion!!!!  And my skin is SUPER soft!   I'm actually about to use the Eco Soaps today to wash some laundry.  :)  I can't wait to try it out!

August 2012 Birchbox

This month's box was  BUST.  The theme this month was "Beauty School" and it did include this really cool fold out card with tips and tricks on it.  I did like that.  And there was a Schick 5 blade razor included as an extra, which basically paid for the box.  So that was nice.  And a really nice perfume. As for the rest, it was a bunch of junk that shouldn't even classify as DELUXE samples.  ESPECIALLY the Stila sample (You can see below).

Everything that was included in my box.  4 "Deluxe" samples (Yeah right) and an extra (The Razor)
I received the following:
Stila Foundation Sample Card: All Day Foundation/Concealer/Beauty Balm
YuMe: Moisturizing Skin Cream for hands, heels and lips
Viva La Juicy: La Fluer
Whisk: Shave Cream
EXTRA: Schick 5 Blade Razor

Stila: I haven't tried it yet, because I haven't gone anywhere to really wear makeup.  And since it's a one time use, if that, I don't want to waste it on just hanging around the house.  I am extremely upset with this sample.  It's super tiny and I would not classify this as a deluxe sample.  I could probably get a bigger sample going to to Ulta and asking for a sample of it.

YuMe Moisturizer: There really isn't enough in this sample to try on my hands, heels AND lips, but I did try it on my lips.  It smells a little weird and has the consistency of Vaseline.

Viva La Juicy: La Fleur....I will probably be purchasing this perfume.  It smells so nice!  It has hints of fruity top notes combined with heady honeysuckle, gardenia, and jasmine.

Whisk Shave Cream:  I didn't take a picture of this sample, but it has a nice thick creamy texture, and smells really nice.  It helped the razor glide across my legs pretty well too.

Schick Razor:  BEST ITEM IN THE BOX!!!!  Nice addition to the box, and actually made it worth getting.  Also, the $4 coupon for refills was awesome.  :)

All in all, if this was the foreshadowing of future boxes, I would cancel right this minute.

August Myglam 2012 (Better Late Than Never)

This month was amazing.  The only thing I didn't really care for was the perfume oil, only because, on me, after a little while, it starts smelling plasticy.  Not really sure how else to explain it.  LOL  As for everything else, I'M IN LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

July 2012 Birchbox

On Friday July 13, 2012, I got my July Birchbox in the mail.  I was so happy to see the bright pink box taking up most of the room in my mailbox. :)

This month's theme was The Five Senses. Smell It.  Touch It. Taste It. Hear It. See It.  The packaging was super cute, and I loved the colors they chose.

Each Birchbox this month included SOMETHING from each of the five senses.  My box had six products.  I received Jouer Luminizing  Moisture Tint, Oscar de la Renta Perfume in live in love, A Larabar Uber in Roasted Nut Roll, a Stila It's Go Time Lip Glaze in "Action", Althena Bamboo UV+ Color Fade Proof Fluide, and finally some really awesome Earbuds made exclusively for Birchbox.

First off, the moisture tint was a little light for me.  And I'm not one for the "DEWY" look.  I think it makes my face look oily.  But that's just me.  I wore it out the other day with a finishing powder over it and it took the dewiness away.  So it's usable.  LOL

The Larabar was super yummy.  It was kinda small for the amount of calories in it though. It had over 100 calories for half a bar.  (A full size bar has 220).  But it had a multitude of different nuts and flavors which included almonds, cashews, peanuts, pecans, macadamia, brown rice syrup, dates, honey  and sea salt.  All of those combined made for a very yummy treat.

The Stila lip glaze was in a beautiful color.  Kinda of a muavy pink (Which I LOVE).  Only problem, it's EXTREMELY Sticky.  I hate sticky lip gloss (That's why I usually stick with MAC's Lipglasses, while they stay wet, I don't feel like my lips will become glued together)

To be honest, not too crazy about the perfume.  It kinda smelled old ladyish.  So I probably won't use it.

I haven't tried the UV fluide, so I can't give you any feed back on it.  I kinda want to wait until I get my hair recolored before using it.  My hair hasn't been colored since August of 2011, so it's TIME!!!

The earbuds are so stinking CUTE!  And the sound is pretty good.  I will be getting A LOT of use out of them, that's for sure!

All in all, this month's Birchbox actually IMPRESSED me.  This is really the first Birchbox that I have to say I actually LOVE.  :)  It only took them 3 months.  LOL

July 2012 Myglam Bag

So, I thought I'd try something a little different and post a video on here.  I am from the south, so excuse the SOUTHERN DRAW! ;)  Also, my camera isn't the best, and goes in and out of focus, so that's the noise you hear.  Other than that, enjoy :)

Click on the Full Screen.  Blogspot won't let me make it bigger.

Here's the picture of the Josie Maran Lip Stain:

This is by itself.  VERY BERRY.

With Stila Lip Glaze in "Action" over top.
